Delaware Lawn Crew: Moving a 2008 Lawn Care Company Off a Legacy Website
Delaware Lawn Crew has mowed Newark lawns since 2008, but its website was a legacy ASP.NET build on old Windows hosting. We rebuilt it from scratch on a modern stack, rewrote every page around what homeowners actually search for, and moved it to Cloudflare without touching the payment portal their customers already use.
Delaware Lawn Crew is a family-owned lawn care company in Newark, founded in 2008 by two brothers who coach rowing at the University of Delaware. The business had a strong reputation and well over a hundred Google reviews, but the website did not match it. It was an aging ASP.NET site on Windows hosting that was hard to update, slow to load, and written before anyone thought about how homeowners search for lawn care today.
What We Did
Rebuilt the site from scratch, one section at a time, on the same stack we use for every client build: server-rendered pages on Cloudflare, so it loads fast on a phone in a driveway.
Built the brand around the story already in the name. The "crew" is a rowing crew: a team that shows up in sync, every week. That idea runs through the copy instead of generic lawn care filler.
Rewrote every page after an SEO audit, with answer-first copy for lawn maintenance, landscaping, hardscaping, and fertilization across New Castle County, Cecil County, and southern Chester County.
Left the existing customer payment portal alone and linked out to it, so nothing changed for current customers on launch day.
Checked the email records before the DNS cutover so the move to Cloudflare did not interrupt company email.
The Results
The new site is live on delawarelawncrew.com, replacing the legacy ASP.NET build.
Every service and service area now has its own search-focused page with real company details instead of boilerplate.
Updates that were painful on the old Windows hosting now ship with a normal deploy.
