Profits on Demand: A Buying-Group Platform From Deal to Payout
Profits on Demand runs a members-only buying group. Vendors buy a deal at the store, ship it to the warehouse and get paid back their cost plus a commission. We built the whole platform, from the deals board to the warehouse scan station to vendor payouts, so the business runs in one app instead of spreadsheets and chat.

The Challenge
In a buying group, the records are the business. Every deal has a store price and a payout, every vendor ships boxes, and every box has to be matched to the right person before anyone gets paid. Profits on Demand needed all of that out of spreadsheets and chat and into one system, sized for about 10 vendors, roughly 50 boxes a week, around 200 product models and up to four scan stations at the warehouse.
What We Did
- Built a deals board where the admin posts a product with what vendors pay and what they get back, and vendors commit to the number of units they will buy.
- Let vendors paste their tracking numbers in bulk so each box is linked to their deal, or bring items to the warehouse in person as a drop-off.
- Built a warehouse scan station. A worker scans the box label, then each item's barcode, and the app records who sent what, with type big enough to read from across the room.
- Added inventory, ship-outs with invoices, and vendor payouts with receipts. Money is stored in exact cents, and payment, scan and stock records can't be edited after the fact, only reversed with a new entry.
- Gave each role its own view. Admins see everything, warehouse staff see receiving and stock, and each vendor sees only their own deals, deliveries and payments.
- Backed it with nearly 3,000 automated tests and deployed it on Cloudflare with a managed Postgres database.
Inside the App

The Results
- Live at profitsondemand.net since October 2026, with every new vendor account reviewed by an admin.
- Vendors see what they have earned, what they are owed and what they have been paid on one screen.
- Every box and item scanned in at the warehouse is tied to the vendor who sent it before any money moves.
- Deals, receiving, inventory, ship-outs and payouts run in one app instead of spreadsheets and group chats.
